Scott Walker song of the week: Jackie

Here's a vintage performance of Scott being awesome.

From Wikipedia:

"Jacky" (La chanson de Jacky) is a song written by Jacques Brel. He recorded the song on 2 November 1965, and it was released on his 1966 album Ces Gens-Là. The song was translated from French into English and retitled as "Jackie".

Scott Walker recorded and released the song as a single in late 1967. The single met with controversy in the UK because of lyrics like "authentic queers and phony virgins" and drug references.[1] The song was banned by the BBC and was not performed on TV or played on the mainstream radio channels. The song was performed on the non-BBC channels most notably on Frankie Howerd's show Howerd's Hour where Walker sang and danced in a overly comical fashion. The song eventually charted at #22,[2] and the following year was included on Walker's hugely popular second album Scott 2.
